bout damn time
Hi!! Computer is back upstairs where it should be now. I haven't been updating or reading any diaries because the computer was in my brother's room. I don't like being in there for long and sometimes he doesn't want anyone in there. Ya know.
The baby shower was on July 31st. My cousins did an awesome job. It was a tropical theme. We had an alcoholic punch and a regular punch, palm trees, leis(sp?), and tropical patterned plates and napkins. Everybody who was invited showed up except for two people, Tom's grandma from PA and my godmother. We played a lot of games. I actually won one of them. I got a little shower poof and shower gel. :-) My grandma won the game where you have to guess how big around the pregnant woman is and take as much toilet paper as you think you'll need to go all around her belly. My dad's mom was exactly right - her toilet paper met exactly over my belly button. It was so cute! I got a lot of things. This kid has so much clothes he'll never be able to wear them all. Can you believe I only got one package of diapers and one box of wipes?! I also got the leftover diapers from the games we played. I went out and bought another thing of diapers and a box of refillable wipes. We got everything we needed except for the swing, the diaper champ, and my glider. I need to get a glider for his bedroom so I can have a comfy place to sit while I breastfeed. I just finished my thank you cards last night and they're being mailed today. Talk about forgetfulness. I kept forgetting to buy them... ;-)
My last appointment was this past Friday. This baby is huge. Here I was thinking he would drop and I'd be able to breathe again, but the poor thing has no room. His head is all the way down and in position and his little legs are tucked right up under my ribs. I didn't realize how big he was until I was lying on the table with a tap measure over me. I'm only 35 weeks so I was told to wait at least 2 more weeks but be on the lookout for contractions and leaking fluid. Yeah, I was in the waiting room for 40 minutes and then I was in the exam room for an hour before we left. Just as I got there my doctor got called across the street to go deliver a baby. There was only one other doctor there so she had to go through her own patients as well as my doctor's. So that's who I saw. I didn't mind because I used to see her before I got pregnant. She's not an OB, just a nurse practitioner I think. O yeah, guess how much weight I've gained. I weigh 192 now - I've gained 29 pounds. Thankfully, you can't really tell. I know have stretch marks all around my upper thighs and a few little ones low on my belly. I didn't even know they were there because of course I can't see down there anymore. :-p Anyway, the baby is doing very well aside from quickly running out of room. Everyone thinks he'll come ealier than his due date because he's so big. I'm getting increasingly more uncomfortable so I agree. I just hope he makes it the next two weeks. Then he'll officially be full term. So today I'm packing the diaper bag and my hospital bag just in case. When you can't sit anymore because everything is shoved into your chest, you should definitely be thinking about getting ready. :-p
Did I mention that the balls of my feet hurt, my joints hurt, my engagement ring gets stuck on my finger, and my hips ache at night so I have to roll over every two minutes?? My back aches most of the day too. Yay.
I'll update again soon. I'm not lying, promise. I would like to get a gold membership soon so I'll be able to post pictures of the baby when he comes. We'll see how that goes. Money's a little tight right now everywhere you look. Now I'm going to catch up on your diaries. Be kind and don't update more than once a day for a little while!! LOL. Ta!
*Update: Ok, I'm caught up! Sarah, Heather, and Jen will have to wait until later! Geeze you three update a lot! Hehe. Don't worry, I'll get to it. :-)
