Today Bryan is one week old! Time flies. He's such a good baby. He only wakes up during the night to eat, which usually isn't often. Last night was the first night I was able to sleep fully between feedings tho. I kept waking myself up. At least once a night since his second night home I would have a bad dream. I would wake up hot and confused. I dreamt I had fallen asleep nursing him and when I woke up I would look under the covers and he wouldn't be there. I'd freak out thinking I dropped him or squished him. But then I'd gather myself and realize I was dreaming and he was sleeping soundly in his playard. It was pretty frightening tho. Since then I've taken to calling Tom at work at least once early in the morning. He only spent the first night home with us before going back to work. It sucks because we both miss him.

Speaking of Tom, he's not sleeping well. He works nights so he sleeps during the day. He hasn't been sleeping well for whatever reason so he's exhausted every night. Bryan and I don't get to see him. This week he might have to work every night instead of getting Tuesday and Wednesday nights off. I guess the other night person is going to be fired or has been. Bryan always wakes up when Tom comes upstairs. Today, he woke up just before Tom came up and we sat next to him on the couch. Bryan was sitting with his back to my chest and he had his head turned toward Tom, just staring. Tom was a little out of it, but he eventually noticed and picked him up. It was so cute. He really loves his daddy. He was a little upset when Tom went back down to bed tho.

Bryan's first doctor's appointment was on Friday. When we left the hospital, he was 6lbs 15oz and on Friday he was back up to 7lbs 1oz. At this rate he'll be past his birth weight at his two week appointment. He has a little newborn rash, but it will go away. His circumcision and his belly button look good. I really liked his doctor. I'm glad I chose him.

I'm feeling pretty good. I think my stitches are healing well {I tore a little inside and out}. Every now and then I'll get a nasty cramp, but they go away with some motrin and much curling of my body. :-p When I left the hospital I weighed 189. I'm hoping to get down below where I was when I got pregnant, which was 163.

Anyway, tomorrow is Jill's birthday. She wants the three of us to come to her birthday dinner, but I really don't want to take Bryan in the car again. I think it makes him spit up more. I'm going to try and get Tom to go tho.

Alright, my lil guy is acting like he's hungry even tho he just ate for 20 minutes not that long ago. Birth story coming when I get more time. Thanks to everyone for all the wonderful notes!! You rock!!
