spitting up
I am exhausted. I'm really getting sick of this spitting up thing. Especially when I have to change my shirt five times a day because a burping cloth is too small. I just got done giving Bryan a bath because he puked everywhere. He doesn't seem to mind, it just comes out of his mouth and he's not even paying attention. I know he's not sick because he doesn't have a temperature and his diapers say he's getting enough to eat. The lactation consultant from the hospital happened to call today. She agreed with me that he's probably spitting up so much because I'm so full. He gets too much when he eats. It should go away soon. It better. Any tips? I don't know what to do to make it better. I've tried sitting him up while he eats and keeping him upright afterward. I've expressed a little milk beforehand so I'm not leaking uncontrollably or squirting him in the face. He was doing pretty good with it until this last time. Like I said, he needed a bath. He almost never does it at night tho. Which is good since we're downstairs in my room, away from the bathroom and the convenience of his changing table and dresser. *sigh* I feel like it's my fault he can't keep it down. Maybe I'll just call and talk to the doctor tomorrow anyway. I'm just afraid they'll say I have to stop nursing or give him formula too. :-(
I've been sleeping in until 11 or later with him every morning. It's really nice. He's not on a real schedule, but he wakes up every three hours. Which is nice for me. I also got a 2+ hour nap this evening with him. I'd sleep even more, but I feel like I'm being lazy. He sleeps all the time, day and night. He has an alert period in the morning and one in the evening and sometimes one later at night. He also wakes up if his dad wakes up in the afternoon. He's sleeping now so I think we'll go down to bed.
O yeah. Moms with circumcised boys - how long do we need to keep using the vaseline? They never actually told us. Tom wants to know. He says it's wrong to keep doing it if we don't have to. Men. ;-)
